Briggs Y Pulley

It should go on the end of the crank where the threads are. Here is a pic of our "Y".

Talking Location of pulley

Roger:

This "Y" engine had the pulley mounted on the mag side of the engine; in other words, on the outer side of the starter gear ratchet.

Default Briggs "Y" Pulley

Just remember that the threads are LEFT HAND! You will have to get a bolt or have a short shaft made to put the pulley on.

Default Y shaft and Pulley

Roger, You have the wrong crankshaft in the engine from what I see in the pictures. There should be an extension on the crank on the starter side about 4" long. I can send you a picture of one if need be. I haven't tried to post a picture on this forum yet but will try tomorrow. Paul Hokanson

Default Briggs "Y" Pulley

Our Y has the same crankshaft as the one pictured. The end of the shaft is tapped and when we got our engine, it had a sproket on it. The pulley on it now is off a Y that had the same crankshaft also. I know that Briggs made a few different crankshafts for this model, but I know that you can make one for it or maybe find an original one for it. If you need any picutes of just the pulley or the sproket, let us know and we will take some and e-mail them to you
