Roger -
Definitely a Briggs, probably a model N or model 6. Check the antique small engine collector's website at www.asecc.com for a more positive ID on the model. Chris |

It is a Briggs Model N. I have one same sears number. The date on the magneto of mine is 3 march 1944. I found parts at NAPA to restor mine.

Looks just like my James Cunningham & Sons engine. I am not mistaken because the name appears on the tag and is on the flywheel cover. Assuming this is a Briggs N, does anyone know why they look so close. I need a carb so I guess I could get by with a Briggs N carb. This is very interesting because I was told there was no relationship between Briggs and James Cunningham & Sons.
Thank you Harry for your time and effort. |
