I found this in the Gallery and decided to copy the post over here to Lugs and Cleats. It's too good to miss so this post bumps it up to the top of the stak.

John! WHERE was that photo taken? The hand wheel on the engine is STRICTLY unusual......they ALWAYS have a left-hand starting crank which is USUALLY broken!

Hey Craig, I took that shot at our International Historical Festival last July at Panningen. Don't know anything about that handwheel, it was the first time I saw a pony motor in life on a Mogul. I think the owner has more profit of the handwheel than of a crank.
Herewith two pics for you, the big one is the 40-60 Mogul 1911 and the other a 1908 20 hp Mogul. Hope you like it.

Hmmm what's in the box ? OH, just a Mogul hit and miss startng engine . I mounted it on a reproduction "M" cart and it sure gets some attention at the local shows. Even the "IHC" experts scratch their heads when they see it. Sure runs nice .

Many thanks John!!! That 20hp Mogul is almost INDENTICAL to the 15hp Type A 2 speeds we built here!!! I'd recognize those gears and shifters ANYWHERE!!! GOD knows I spent enough time machining and CAREFULLY grinding shifter yokes to fit CLOSELY as there isn't much room between the two-speed gears and you just CAN'T have any slop for the sliding gears to flop back and forth!! NICE tractors!!! Maybe you can tell me what's up with the BROWN RUMELYS in the Geldorf collection? I shipped my Y Rumely to Luxembourg which should arrive at its new home on Saturday (Dec 11, 2004)!!! That should be close enough for you to visit some time. Craig

Hi John: I know they didn't make many of these pony engines for starting the big Titans. I see some differences betrween this one and mine. Beveled flywheel, gas tank position, long crankshaft on the off side, engine positioning lever on the right. I wonder which ones went on what tractor and what side . Break is almost over . Thanks for posting. Happy Holidays

I am cosidering buying a group of about 15 engines from a fellow and one of them is a Mogul pony engine. It is unstuck, has orig. carb but no fuel tank. I know the value of the other engines but this one I have no clue on. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Brian.

Brian: I paid $1,500 for mine a few years ago, Being a fairly uncommon IHC engine I wouldn't hesitate to buy it, but I already have one
