I bought a Briggs model 23 over the weekend I was thinking I needed a 23 when I actually needed a...

Question Briggs 23?????

I bought a Briggs model 23 over the weekend I was thinking I needed a 23 when I actually needed a 19, does anyone know the horsepower of the Model 23?? and will it bolt in place of a 19???

Briggs Model 23 is 8HP and should have same mounting holes

Ok Thanks I was told it was a same as a 23D and it wouldn't bolt so I figured I would ask for a second opinion....

The 19 has the same bore as the 23 but a shorter stroke. You may have a problem using the 23 if height is an issue...it's a couple inches taller.
If you are in the KY/OH area and need a 19 I can help...sorry I won't ship though.

I always thought the 19 was 7 hp and the 14 was 5 hp, while the 23 was rated at 9 hp. Is this true? Thanks

Oh, also if you can get me the serial, type, and model #'s of both motors I will look to see if they have the same base casting P/N.

Well it looks like the engine mounting is different then the 19 was, Whats a 23 worth I might just sell it....
