Rich;

You're lucky, you have the original start button. The coil is automotive but as long as it works, don't knock it. Are you starting it with the push button on the base? If you are and it works as a motor to srart the engine, it will charge. That is if every thing is wired up correctly. Try putting load on it and see if that doesn't make it work a little bit.

The blue ones were ususllly 6volt. you can use a 12 volt light bulb to load it with and see if that doesn't make it charge.

Good luck.

Larry;

The engine was made by "Dependable" Continental Red Seal.

They were made as early as 1930 and were used through the Second World War. I have some literature from a fellow in the UK that shows them being used in British tanks during the war.

Horse power I would think would be around 1/2 to 3/4. My literature doesn't tell me what that is.

I have one of these chargers that runs well, (but isn't charging yet.) Does anyone out there have any manuals or literature for these units?

Mine is an

Airline Charger
Model CM-6619 and either 8 or B (can't be distinguished)
Serial No. B 4522
volts 6
amps 37
watts 225

I would really appreciate any technical or sales literature that I might find on this old unit. Mine was used so little that it still has the paper tags from the factory still on it.

Thank you.

Chuck
