Question Maytag Question

I am wondering what the best 2 cycle mix to you with a maytag Model 11 similar to a Model 92, I just put new rings in one and want to make sure i dont carbon them up too bad, I know the mixtue is 16:1 or should i run it at a higher mixture to insure good lubrication to the rings ?
Thanks
~ Jonathan

I use about a 24:1 mix with regular chainsaw/lawnmower 2-stroke oil in mine. The spark plug looks okay, i still get the characteristic blue maytag smoke and I see a small amount of oil coming out of the exhaust pipe so I know things are getting lubed. Personally, i'm staying with what works best for me. Also, don't forget to add some Sta-bil to your gas as it takes FOREVER for these things to go through a tank!

Maytag recomended a 16:1 mixture. I use straight SAE30 Non Detergent oil for mine.
Never fouled a plug at all. And it is plenty of lubrication for sure. There is always many opinions on this subject. And like in the above reply make sure you add Sta-Bil to the gas as well.

I used the non-detergent oil mixture last year at a show in a 92 on a washer. It did seem to foul the plug more than the modern standard 2 cycle mix even at a 24:1 mix. Also if any oil spray from the non-detergent gets on the engine it is twice the work to clean it off. Also I'm told that non-detergent oil will seperate in the tank if it sits for any length of time. This is also mentioned in an manual for an Assoicated Pony that I have. So in short I stick with the modern stuff as I have had no problems with it. My 2 cents worth. Kevin

I have been using regular lawnboy oil mixed at 32-1. It seems to still smoke and runs oil oil out the exhaust. Arlie
