Fairbanks Morse 208, governer

How do you put some live back into a governer on F/M 208? It works, but it is so slow. Help! All infromation will be appreciated. Thanks, Jesse Z.

Here is what it does, you start the engine and when it starts it will run so fast that you think that its going to fly apart, and then the governor will shut it down untill you think it is going stop stop. and than the goveror will open wide open, and then finely shut it back down. It can't find a happy medium. I hope this will help you with my problem. Does anyone ealse have a problem like this, with an F/M 208? Thanks, Jesse Zilafro

It sounds like to me that the gov. weights are sticking, or the gov. spool spring is stuck or broken.
