Photo Zoflo & Fort Meade FL Shows

My folks are planning on attending/showing the above 2 shows in Flordia (Feb - March) when they are in the area. Is there any special information I should pass onto them? They will be taking items to show...My father has gotten a bit of the bug and enjoys these shows and showing Engines, Tractors and Other Primitives. I don't know if they will be able to squeeze an engine into the truck for the trip down due to hauling other items.

Here he is running his hay press at a show last year...in the cold and rain....

Steve, I just returned from the Jan. 2005 show. Florida Flywheelers have purchased an additional 80 acres. If your folks are showing and or vendors, The enterance is located toward the East of the show grounds. PS, They should be able to enjoy warmer weather than what we had in Jan. Dave in Holt.

Steve,
The only problem with doing both shows is that you have to be in your spot at Zolfo on the same Sunday that the Ft. Mead show ends, I heard that after a certain time on Sunday you can no longer get in (too crowded).
We were at the Ft. Mead show in January and will be at the Feb show also.
Please stop by if you show up, row 2 south 19 & 20.
Lou

If you arrive at Zolfo before Monday you will have to pay for camping Sunday night. This show is put on by Hardee County.
You should make reservations if you want a good space.
Contact address is Pioneer Park Days, 205 Hanchey Road, Wauchula, FL, 33873- Tel 863-773-3272.

I'm sure they must get assistance and advice from individuals who were active in the Flywheelers or other clubs. It is a real nice show.....Helen

I've been told by some of the Flywheeler founding members that Zolpho started out as a group of people just running engines under the trees long before there were any type of engine clubs in Florida. Then is turned into a show, and is what it is today from just a group of people under a tree one day. I think it is a great show with many different items to see and they do a good job with the limited space that they have, one just needs to register to get a spot, and usually a year or more in advance. I have had to jam my stuff in other people's spots before and park outside the gate, but it was still fun and I got to know more people that way. I am looking forward to going this year again.

Hope Harry doesn't mind but here are pictures of some past shows and history of the show:

http://www.old-engine.com/zolfo.htm

Very good food on the grounds and at the restaurant on the corner!

There is no selling in the exhibitors area but it has a rather large complete flea market area. Now that is jamming them in!!!!

Why should I mind? That's what it's there for and I hope to take more photos this year. With as many of us that will be there, we could set up a meeting time, but most likely I'll only make it for one day. It's the best show in Florida!

I'll make it to Zolfo, maybe some Friday, and Saturday for sure. No engines this trip. I'm easy to pick out--old guy, riding single on a tandem bike.

Thanks,
I called them and they straightened me out, I had it all wrong. You can come in after 3 PM on Sunday and set your stuff up for the week. If you arrive before that you have to pay for camping.
Thanks,
Lou

We had always had to pay for camping on Sunday night. We would leave the Flywheelers Sunday afternoon and go on to Zolfo. It would be nice if we didn't have to pay! Helen

I'll be attending both Ft. Meade and Zolpho. I'm in the 'flea market' areas of both.

Tell them to bring something to ride i.e. golf cart, bicycles, tractors (small) or whatever. These are large areas to walk.

I just today bought one of those little electric scooters (so easy to get in motorhome).
