Default Iowa City area... is there anything to do?

I know this is off topic... but on Wednesday I'll be in Iowa City, all day. I have never been there before and I have to waste all day while a friend is in surgery at the VA Hospital. Is there a museum with an engine exhibit or maybe someone retired in the near area that wouldn't mind me visiting? I really need something to do, he has to be at the hospital at 7am and is supposed to be released at 5pm. Thanks for your help guys! P.S. it needs to be cheap... I don't have a job.

I don't know anything about that area, but maybe you could web search the Iowa tourist bureau or something like that. Get a phone number, and call to ask what would be fun.
OR... you could just stay at the hospital. Find a really cute nurse and fake a heart attack! (Disregard this if you're married :-) Kevin
