Magnetos, Ignition Coils and Spark Plugs

Bosch AB33 Magneto


:confused: I have a AB33 mag that needs a charge. Can someone tell me the proper way to do this....

Default Bosch AB33 Magneto

I have a AB33 mag that needs a charge. Can someone tell me the proper way to do this. I've heard ....remove the magnets and don't remove them. Just want to do it right.......Thanks ...........and Thanks Harry

The guy that charged mine did it with the Mag together just used a compass to figure out n and south put it on his charger and gave it the onion... Or a couple of 3 second bursts, works good now.. I have been told not to remove the magnets on these style magnetos..

When you charge an AB-33 Mag you should charge it fully assembled. You put the mag on the charger so that it is laying flat or horizontially and put two aux. pole pieces on the end of the magnets closest to the springs. don't charge it on the breaker point side.also make sure the poles are north to south and vise-versa.
