Generac RV generator HELP!

Hello everyone, I have a Generac 3000 watt rv generator model 6208-5. Where can I get parts? Generac says I am out of luck....Help!

What parts do you need? Mechanical items such as plugs, filters can be found in a NAPA store. Electronics like voltage regulator or control circuit boards can be repaired or rebuilt. The generator end can be rewound. Generac does not have a reputation as a well built long lasting machine.

i`m in the same boat as you. i have a 1990 8hp generac 4000 and it has no hours on it runs great etc. but it never came with a owners manual when my father purchased it in 1990 from farm & fleet. i agree, Generac company isn`t very helpful on this matter. any owners manual info would be appreciated.

Hello Scorpio, I have a Generac 4000/5000 surge,it is an RV unit. No manual and having the time of my life trying to figure out how to start it.I still don't know what kind of engine it is,but it is belt drive with a multi groove belt. The way it is ratioed,the engine will probably turn around 2440 rpm and the alt. 3600. I have cleaned the carb. and I just found out how to get the plug to fire. The electric fuel pump was locked up with varnish like gunk,but got it working. As soon as the weather will let me, I'll put on the new oil filter and put in new oil,hook up a batt. and hopefully smell some smoke. Is your unit belt driven or direct drive ? Trying to reverse engineer this thing is very interesting.The engine will not bother me too much,but the alt. wil be a different story. If I can be any help,let me know.Best regards, Arthur
