Lightbulb Anyone out there have engines like these?

I was looking through a couple engine sales catalogs I have & wondered if there were any engines like these left out there???

1. First is a Watkins book. The dealer, Stephen Church, was a huge engine agent in Boston. They sold a lot of different models.

2. Horizontal Webster This book also has the inverted models, but I wondered if there were many horizontals left???

3. Last is a Fairbault. This is an odd engine with a lot of features like a Columbus. Same designer I think. I'd really like to see a picture of a survivor!

Hi Chris, this is a 5hp Webster sideshaft owned by my wife's uncle. Probably one of the smoothest and quietest sideshaft's one will ever come across. David.

There are a couple of Fairibalts in Minnesota and North Dakota. Have also seen several Watkins and at least one Webster. Keven

David I think your picture is of a Weber not Webster. I am working on a early Webster and wish someone had a picture of the mixer. I know of at least 7 Websters, only 4 complete . The mixer I need is the one in the early Hiscox book not like the one in Wendels BYB. Brian

Oops, my bad. Definitely a Weber, reckon I wasn't paying good enough attention to the spelling. Thanks guys, David.

Here is a picture of one of the Faribault engines in Minnesota. It is a 5hp. My Dad and I made a decision a number of years ago to focus our collection on engines built in Minnesota. This is the cornerstone of our MN built collection. If anyone has any MN built engines they want to sell or trade, let me know

Thanks!

David

Is That the Frank M. Watkins Engine builder from Cincinnati Ohio? I am doing research on the man and the Co. but its hard work finding anything. I have two of the marine engines a 1 cyl. and 2 cyl. I have a list of about 12 people who have a watkins engine of either marine or stationary type.

Thanks for the pictures guys! It's nice to see & hear there are a few left. Is there a conection between Webster & Thompson Lewis? It looks like the same engine in the horizontal model. Lets see some pics of a Watkins now. Thanks Again!

There's another line they sold then. S. Church must have been quite a company in their day. My Watkins book was made with their name printed on the inside also. I doubt the company did that for every dealer in the country! I'd like to know more about this agent!
