Cool Happy day in engine world today

My Ebay find from a year ago breathed it's first breth in who knows how many years of setting tonight....it is my 1933 model Y briggs, it came in the shop a year ago, just about like all the rest of'em all crazy lookin and rusty, but after a few months of work, i think i changed it's tune, now it looks like original again after a crank, rod, and piston transplant, and a few other parts replacements and bushing & bearing work, it had no spek of paint left on it when i got it, alls i had ta do is bead blast the engine and things and paint it.
the engine had no spark what so ever eaither, do to badly wore points and possibly condinsier, fixed that and soon found out the coil was still good after one heck of a shock! but anyway, i still have a few minor adjustments to make on the engine so as soon as i get that done i hope to have a picture for you all to see soon.......i hope

The coils on the old cast iron B&S 5 S, used to fire on about 5,000 volts - the coil could make a 1/4" spark if it had to! It would make that spark at about 100 RPM too. The modern coils, electronic ignition, make about 20 to 25,000 volts - to fire the new fangled no lead gas. It also takes about 8 to 850 RPM, just to get a spark - one reason they are putting electric starters on many mowers. The average old timer simply cannot pull the engine over fast enough to start it!
