Question Dometic DMC-45 Wiring (may be made by Generac)

Need a Wiring Guide ( or good copy ) for a Dometic DMC-45 4000W Generator. I was informed by Dometic that this model was made by Generac for them. Engine runs fine, but need Wiring Guide. Bought used from a Guy that tried to wire it up to His House.( $20.) Any Help would be Great. Chuck.

Sir,

Do a google search on Generac and find their website. They have a very large quantity of their manuals on line in pdf form. Just download and view. I have found the manuals to be quite complete.

Good Luck,

Keith

Wiring Guide for a Dometic DMC-45, 4000W Generator FOUND! Thanks to Keith Kessler & The Genrac Corporation. Generac had a copy of the Dometic version of the Manual, and made a Copy and Mailed it to Me. Generator now runs Fine.

Hi Chuck,
I have a model 6120, seriel no.0299347. 4000 W, Somewhere around 70 or 72 vintage I think.? I haven't been able to find anything on this unit, even on Generac's listing. Would you please let me know when you get a manual,if it has any information that would apply to my unit. Is your's belt drive ?, mine is. I have got it running and am well pleased with it so far,I know the 115 v works, but haven't checked the 230 yet. Tomorrow I plan to kook up an exhaust system, the fumes are rough on my cold. Would appreciate hearing from you and how you make out with your unit. Best regards, Arthur Ps. would like to know what kind of engine it is.

hi Chuck,

So are you saying that the Dometic-branded unit is NOT the same as a Generac model#, and that they did NOT have the manual on line?

I'm asking because I expect to shortly end up with about the same unit...it's said to be a 4.5kw Dometic made by Generac, running OK, but with wires hanging out all over...

thanks!

Richard

I now have a Dometic DMC45 which runs only for a short time then shuts down like it lost its ignition. Need the schematic/wiring diagram to troubleshoot it. Has anyone got a scan of the diagram or manual for it. The spark module seems to be wired into a potted module of some sort. Thanks in advance Don Smith

During my troubleshooting of the Dometic DCM-45 I find that there is no spark to the plug. Checked the hot wire to the spark coil while cranking and found no voltage from the ignition module unless it is disconnected from the spark coil. Disconnected I could see spikes of voltage on the wire. I checked the Spark coil and found less than 1 ohm between the ground and hot lead. The HIV lead seemed open or at least very high resistance.
Does anyone have the same generator that could measure the resistance readings of the spark coil and forward them to me? I am using the online manual listed im my other post and find it very close even though the diagram shows two spark plugs. Thanks Don Smith
