Default Oliver 60 Engine

I have the engine to an Oliver 60 sitting at home with a busted sleeve. Water got into the cylinder and froze over the course of several years, and of course, the sleeve cracked. I'd like to be able to find a new sleeve, or even better, a whole set of four, or even better, the whole overhaul kit. I probably need to find pistons too, but I want to find sleeves first. If anybody knows where I can find some, that would be great. I'd really like to be able to save this engine, as it is number 600013. Thanks a lot, guys.

Jake

So as you probably already know all Oliver 60 Row Crop Tractors the Serial Number started with 60, so you have the engine out of the 13th Production Tractor. Serial Number 1 or 2 (I forget which) shows up at shows every now and then.

You may be able to get sleeves at a Agco dealer still. The 60 engines were built by Waukasha. There will also be the Hart Parr Oliver Collectors Association Winter Get together here next weekend. Friends of our were trying to get us to go there. It's in either Indiana or Illinois. Part wise you should be able to find anything there.

As the 60 was 2/3 of a 70 I suspect that pistons/sleeves and so-on might be interchangeable......that's not to say they are going to easy or CHEAP to find!
If you can't compare 60 and 70 parts books for numbers give Tom Underwood a call:
Tom Underwood at Parts of the Past, Inc., 1320 Spencer Drive, Lawrence, KS 66044 785-749-5231 has some parts (particularly engine parts like pistons and sleeves).
Even if you don't buy from him you'll get the information you need.
