did anyone see the ad on antique tractors of the 830 jd with 1156 cubic inces? i know an 830 has in...

did anyone see the ad on antique tractors of the 830 jd with 1156 cubic inces? i know an 830 has in the neighborhood of 70 hp, but how many cubic inces does a stock 830 have?

Stock is 471 cubes. I have NO idea how they could come up with that kind of displacement. There's very little extra clearance in the crankcase to stroke them so that leaves the bore only. Increasing the stroke 1/4" would result in 486 cubes. The 1156 number you quote results in 2 1/2 gallons PER cylinder. A Hart Parr 30-60 with a 10" bore and 15" stroke displaces 5.1 gallons per cylinder. Even moving up to 8" pistons and an 8 1/4" stroke would only result in 829 cubes. I think someone is cracked.........................

thanks craig. i didn't believe that one either. there ain't room enough inside that engine for 1156 cubes.

I'm with the other guys-a D9 Cat is about 1100 CI, & that's 6 cyl's about the size of the 830's 2...somebody's way wild on their figures.

I JUST saw that ad in one of my magazines and it was a PHOTO ad. There is NO way THAT many cubes could be fit inside the unaltered frame. Talking about 200 Horsepower. THAT might be possible but NOT at stock rpms......

If I REALLY cared I'd call the guy and ask him what the bore and stroke is but.............I have a hunch how THAT would turn out..........
