Post Farmall Widefront

Wondering how hard it is to convert a M narrow front to a wide front, or a farmall 300-400 narrow to a wide front. I have a 300 and an M and i would like to put a loader on one of them. Seems you can find wide fronts fairly reasonably priced, and a new wide front tractors are very expensive. Any info could help. Also, wondering how power steering becomes a factor. Thank you.

It doesn't sound that easy to me. You would have to do something about the front axle bolster (i.e. cut it off) and that is something that is neither easy or fun to do. You can use a loader on a narrow front tractor, and could probably find one to fit either of your tractors. The only thing is, its not quite as safe having a narrow front tractor, but keep your bucket low and you won't have a problem. Adding a power steering system doesn't sound that great either. Unless it is already in there, you would have to get the parts, find places to put them in the tractor, and get it all hooked up. I would say your best bet is to find a loader that was meant to fit on your tractor to begin with, and use that one.
