Default Small old pump jacks

I am wondering if any one collects the old style pump jacks? I am talking about the small kind that most farmers had to do the work when the Mill was not working due to no wind. These small jacks usuallly had a electric motor if posssible and if not electric then a two to five hourse power gasser mounted on them to pull the water. I run across one now and then and I really think some one should collect them, they do not deserve to go to the scrap yard, they are to rich in history. Just wondering.

I know I would like at least 2 to run at shows. There are so many things that you can do with those. Its few and far between when I see one. But I dont go to the scrap yards looking for them. But I have an excuse now....I have a load of aluminum that im going to take when spring comes. If I see anything, it would be good trading material. I hope to find something when I go.

Ok Gang, I will keep my eyes open and the next one I see passing thru the junk yard or trash will grab it . I don't guess brand names would make any diffrence if they are not that many, how many diffrent companys made them I wonder, guess I will do some searching and see. paul

I think you would be surprised just how many companies made them or had their names on them. Ive seen stickneys, stovers, jensens, john deere, and if im not mistaken aermotor offered one. Probably just about every small engine company offered one at one time. But the open geared ones are probably the most desirable. It doesnt matter to me. I like all the equipment. But I really like making water move.
