Default Home made hopper??

Spotted this engine on E-Bay and had to look twice! Is this a Witte type F, with a home made water hopper?

The hopper sure looks home made to me. Notice the plate between the cylinder and the hopper. Its still a pretty neat engine though, and I dont believe I've ever seen one at an engine show.
