Default ebay - what do you think?

I won an auction on Ebay for a Stover rocker arm. Ebay #3878120973. It was listed like this: 3hp Stover K or H rocker arm, new. In the item description it read like this: Auction is for one recast and machined exhaust rocker etc. This is what I got..(see picture) A used arm that was broken and then brazed back together and fudged in with J.B Weld. I emailed him and he says,"I did see the brazing, which didnt make sense," He says he believes it is new. What does he think? they cast them, break them, and then braze them back together crooked for the fun of it? He says he will refund my money but wants me to pay the shipping back. Thats where I have a problem, What would you do?

I checked the auction out. My FREE advice is to dress up what you have and send to the Hoppy Shop in Brandon, MN, to have a NEW one cast. At least you have a pattern now which is more than you will have if you send it back. Hard to say from the auction description if this guy really KNOWS what he's doing or not....
I'd give up right now and not leave any feedback at all................

You are in Farmington NH and he is in Goffstown NH, You can't be too far away from each other, If you really don't want to pay the shipping charge to return it to him, then try to work somthing out do bring it back at one of the local shows! But on the other hand Craig is a know engine collector and shoul have known what he was selling

huh, he live close and you do not see the obvious solution? 1 you need a BIG TRUCK...2 his address...3 perhaps a few pitbulls...4 a darn good alibi.

Perhaps not... hope you can get things worked out. if it was not too expensive it may be a good idea to have a dozen or so cast and then SELL THEM ON EBAY (after you crack them and braze then for fun)

Why is we must put up with such crap? He knew what he was selling and it was a scam, it he didn't then he should be eliminated from the DNA pool.
