Question Hmmm - suspicious e-mail

I received an e-mail today that was addressed to a number of engine folks. The sibject was "agree or delete" with no message and it had an attachment. The e-mail was from enginenut66. I deleted it as I do with e-mails from people I don't know that have attachments. Just wondering if anyone else got the same e-mail and if it was something legit?

I got it too. I did open it, it seemed to be something religious. I deleted it before I finished reading it. I have no idea where they got my email address.

Got it too, passed my firewall and my virus systems. I think enginenut66 is David Green in KCK. I have spoken with him several times, has some nice Spartas.

David Green's address is enginenut1@...., check before you put someone's name on here that may or may not be connected with something shady. David.

The last thing I want to do is degrade Harry's site to a shouting arena, however, I can forward anyone who wants it, I have emails from EngineNut66@ and they came from the person I said. The address may be different now, but as of 10-4-2004 the address was the same as the one that I got odd mail from today.
Sorry if I offended, just thought adding a familiar face to the e-mail might take away some of the concern.
can we talk about engines again? I write software for a living, and this all sounds like work to me.

I got the same email but did read it.
It spoke of the phrase "so help me God" being deleted from the formula when witnesses are sworn in at a court of law.
I don't suppose many people would care if God is mentioned in the school, courthouse or anywhere else, since America as a whole is a post-christian nation now.
Culture is religion externalized. It matters not what a society says it believes, their laws, entertainment, and actions show you what they really believe.
"The nation that forgets God will be turned into hell" is what the Bible says.
Does anyone dispute it's happening before our eyes?
Another school shooting the other day. They barely make the front page anymore... Kevin

I got it too, it was sent to me from the SAME address David Green from Kansas City used to send me info on the Sparta crank I bought from him. He seems to be a nice fellow from the dealings I had with him.

I also got the same email. I don't know who this person is but I don't think his email about the US is very relevant here in Oz

Harry - what's your take on it?

Take care - Elden

I can assure you it is NOT David Green. I have known David for the last 13 to 14 years and see him quite often. He is not the type of person who would do this or even think about it.

I would suggest there are any number of places your email address could have been found by scammers or spamers. Just got another authentic looking spoof email purporting to be from ebay. I forwarded it to ebay then deleted it without replying. Got confirmation back from ebay that it was a spoof and they are following up on it.

I received the same email and deleted it. I suspect that this was a virus like deal where the email came in to the unsuspecting person and it harvested all the email addresses in his system or contacts page and then forwarded itself on to the other recipients.

All the more reason to be extremely suspicious about attachments.

Ok Greg, I see where you were going now. As far as I have ever heard David Green is a nice person and I thought you were going the other way with it. In your way you were defending David, as I was in mine. Too many times I have seen someone's name connected with something and it turned out not to be true. By then it's usually too late. Obviously, I was not aware David used another address, I have since been corrected. David Greenwalt
