MIKE, LEONARD, what do you know about the consignment auction at kutztown pa. fair grounds, on april 2? first annual. saw it in lancaster farmer. looks like about 20 water cooled engines, plus a ton of other stuff. pretty good size auction for the first. even has tractors, maytags, etc. i am laid up with back trouble and can't be there.

I saw it advertised in GEM. Don't know anything about it though. Kind of wonder if this sale is the reason the Kempton consignment sale was a little light.

I saw the auction advertised in Lancaster Farming, too. I'm not going to this one, a little too far away and I spent most of my engine money at the Woodsboro auction last weekend!!

I am planning to go to the Howard County, MD antique farm machinery association auction at the Howard County fairgrounds on April 16 and another sale near Butler, PA on April 30 (advertised in GEM).

Sorry to hear abut your back.

Just wondering if anyone braved the weather and went to the auction? If so, how were prices?

George was there but he was rather disgusted. He posted no prices. He did say that there were some good buys on unrestored engines that did not have reserves on them. He said he thought most of those prices were fair. 13? of the restored engines were not sold because there was a reserve. Many of those apparently didn't even get an opening bid. Buyers can be stuborn too!

There were around 90 garden tractors inclusing the walk behinds. George didn't stay for those. The auction was held inside and was well run although for the auctioneer it was his first engine sale.

Attendance was good!

I stayed home where it was dry! Helen
