That's a nice, fresh engine! Is that a crack across the top of the head or is it the remains of a pinstripe?

Take care - Elden

It looks like a good one. What a find!

Waterless hand cleaner will remove the hardened grease. Then, a wipe-down with linseed oil will bring out the color. You'll be surprised at how sharp it will look. You can see at example of that treatment, here:

We're gonna leave that Jaeger just the way it is!

Enjoy!

Very NICE, Gary;

Hand cleaner works well. After cleanup, I use a 50/50 mixture of BOILED Linseed oil and mineral spirits. Boiled will dry faster. I'd keep it dust free until it does dry.

Just for the record this one will remain just the way it is. There is no parts cracked or welded, nothing is missing, most of the striping is easy to see. The best part is it took less than 10 min to get running, the PR mag works great even the gas tank had no leaks. Today it was put on my engine trailer, just having fun in Southern Illinois Gary

Congratulations Gary!

Bring it home to the Hercules-Economy reunion at Evansville in June. I found a fresh 3hp about like it myself at Zolfo. Mine has the same stripes on the head. I'd like to see pictures of how it looks after the linseed oil treatment.
