Question Galloway Timing

Is there an easy way to time a Galloway 7 Hp. Engine. The Webster magneto book says to turn the flywheel until the word spark is even with the cam rod.I can't find any marks on my flywheels, Should there be one?

To my knowledge there is no spark on Galloway flywheels..Herc engines have them.

Galloway books can be bought from the vendors. That will explain timing.

A good generic setting for timing on our old engines is to give it three degrees of advance for each 100 rpms you want to run. This is for high tension ignition. For low tension ignition give it 5 degrees for each 100 rpms.
