Default Lorain engine?

My brother called me last night to tell me about an engine he had spotted. Now my brother is not an engine collector but since I collect them he keeps an eye out for anything that resembles an engine and lets me know when he spots something. This is what he told me about this engine.

1 flywheel - about 36" to 42" diameter - app. 3" wide
Appears to have a clutch on other side
Enclosed crankcase
Has a radiator on top of cylinder (sounds similar to Fairbanks ZC setup)
No tag on engine but says "Lorain"

I did a search in the archives and found mention of a White Roth Machine Co. that may have built engines in Lorain Ohio. It sounds like an oil field engine to me. Just wondering if anyone out there knew anything about the identity of this engine and had any information on them. It sounds kind of interesting but I would like to find out a little more before I drive 200 miles to go look at it. Thanks in advance for any info and thanks Harry for the site.

Can't help you John, but it does sound like an oilfield job to me also.
But you'll drive up no matter what it is, because you can't stand it!
You're just like the rest of us! Kevin

Kevin, you are probably right. I wish I could get my brother to send me a picture but he does not have a computer or a digital camera. I think he is still using a Kodak Brownie.
