Default Off Topic: Chandler Water Pump

I bought a Chandler pitcher pump or windmill pump (made in Cedar Rapids, IA) at the Le Sueur swap meet, for either a yard ornament, or a future project to hook up to a pump jack and engine. I'm not having much luck finding out about it on the Internet, ie., year built, parts availability, where to find a pump for it to hook up to the sucker rod, etc. I seen some new sucker pumps
with fancy check balls, listed online, but I don't really want to spend $150, or don't know wheter or not they'd work anyway.
Would be nice to know how old the pump is also. If anyone has information or can lead me in the right direction, I'd be grateful. Thanks!

Tom,
A trade name that Chandler used on some pumps was Hawkeye. Maybe a search of that will help.

For those that like windmills, here is a good site with the history of each mill company,

Thanks for your suggestions. The Spearman site is big on windmills, but not the pumps that go with them. Hawkeye search led me into everything but pumps! Oh well, they say the journey itself is more fun than the destination!

Bob,
Here's site for Myers catalog, unfortunately in black & white; http://www.oldiron-nut.com/myers/52/

The photo has a little bit of the original green paint left on the pulley.

Thanks Doug Here is a pict. of the jack. I dont think it is a stock belt pulley for this? It has 3 grooves but not for a v belt they are round and in one spot they have holes going through with a jaw(clamp?) on the back to tighten down on a rope or round belt?? Is neat though!

Here is a Barnes Picture Pump that I made up 2 years ago...

Water Pump $25.00
Old Milk Can $2.50
Plastic plumbing (those unions are expensive)....$20
New leather check valve and pump leather $6.00
Couple cans of spray paint $8.00

Catching an Uncle Pump Water....Priceless

You should be able to get yours up and running for about the same... I have seen new internals for $15 (rod, pump leather and fiting), flap check valve ~$3. Plumbing these pumps is where you can add the mone up quick...but it makes for a neat hands on display. Just make sure no kid gets their finger pintched if they grab the handle too far up.

Has anyone ever made a hydrant / pump that attaches to the sucker rod on a windmill pump? Sounds like an interesting project if I had some plans. Am I guessing correct that the leathers on Steve's pump is inside the pitcher pump itself, and not below in the PVC piping? Hey, I know what the inside of a engine looks like...... just never had water pumps apart!
Thanks.
