Photo Orr & Sembower Winch Engine

On a previous post I failed to describe my O and S engine. It is a winching engine that is tank cooled. It has a fuel pump. I am missing the correct carb, do not know what it should look like. Will be posting a pic of the engine without the cooling tank as I have it off at this time. Would like any info or litature on it. Would be willing to pay for copies. Engine and gearing looks to be in new condition. Does anyone know of any others and where they are hiding.

Is that the engine that was recently on Ebay? Nice find!

Hi Thousos,
We have an Orr & Sembower winch similar, but not exactly, to yours. It is tagged Joshua Hendy and was originally paired with a Samson engine.

If you're interested, I can dig out some pictures.

Hey Rob
I would love to see any picts. that you have. My engine does have the Orr and Sembower tag on the cylinder. It says that it is 4 hp, 350 rpm. The fuel pump mandates that it would have to have a carb that had a return line on it. It would have a 1" npt thread. The original fuel tank is still under the base of the engine. thanks Ted

Hi Chris
Yes the engine was on ebay. The owner was a delight to deal with and is supplying some history forthcoming. Thanks Ted

Hi Ted,
I put a few pictures of our winch at
http://highheelsneakers.rustyiron.com/winch

Perhaps I can contact you directly when starting restoration of our winch. It's on "the list," but there have been other projects of higher priority.

Rob
