Default Fuel pump needed

I am looking for a plunger type fuel pump to adapt to a small verical hit & miss "T" head engine that I have (not a Fairbanks T). I don't care what the fuel pump came off from as long as I can make it work on the engine. There is a plunger rod that travels vertically 3/8" that is what will activate the pump.

Thanks, Jim

A fuel pump such as you require is not difficult to make. Take a look at the McCormick M engine pump. All they are is a plunger (solid shaft) passing through a gland with a packing device/guide operating in a cylinder with 2 check valves, 1 in the bottom of the cylinder (inlet) and the other on the outlet. The fit is not important as they operate on displacement only. With only 3/8" of stroke a rather large plunger (1" anyway) should be used or you'll get no volume.

Dear Jim The response from Graig is right on the fuel pump . The IHC pumps are made that way. they are sized by H.P. the 1 1/2 is 3/8" dia Rod 3 H.P. is 7/16" & the 6 H.P. is 1/2" Dia. But the stroke is about 3/4"?. They Pump to a over flow carb. I have built this IHC pumps for about 30 years. Iron Man Paul

if you don't care about looks an old automotive fuel pump can be rigged up, they don,t need very much travel to pump. i have seen some old engines that were done this way probably after the original pump gave out. a little neater way is to use pipe fittings, a tee with two check valves at the bottom of a nipple, then a solid rod that fits inside the nipple with out too much slop. a regular pipe cap can be drilled for the plunger rod and used for a packing gland. crude? yess but i made a water pump this way that worked great.
