Default Fairbanks "Z" 6hp

Can someone post a picture of a spark advance/retard for a 6hp Fairbanks Z engine. I've been running it on a buzz coil and now have a AB33 mag to mount on it. Also need to get this part. Any help would be greatly appreciated. .........Thanks and ...............Thanks Harry!

If Your Engine originally came with an AB33 mag, then Your Cam gear should already have the Catch Pin on it....And should be no other Mods, just Mount the mag and Start it, It will Time itself.. Larry

In addition to the trip pin and roller with its spring ring, lockwasher, and nut, you need the counterweight with its arm and taper pin. This stuff is called the "early andlate device" by Fairbanks in their parts book.

You're in some luck since it appears that the same "early and late device" is used on both the 3 and 6 horse AB 33 sparked engines. This device is not used on the 1-1/2 horse engines.

I you have trouble getting spark with your mag you could try using some ceramic magnets. My grandfather did this on his 7 1/2 hp fairbanks. He said when he first put the magnets on he had the engine in the garage he shut the lights off and made it spark it lit up the whole garage! Just an idea for you. Good luck with it!
