I made a set. Used copper pipe which I fit to the rod. Made a holder for the copper shells , tinned the inside of the shells with hard solder and then turned them down to fit the rod crank bearing. A bit of a messy job which involved alot of hand work and trial and error fitting but it can be done. Worked for me, engine runs fine.
thanks

I think Ed Deis of Hit&Miss in Orwell Ohio sells them. I bought a set for a 1 1/2-3 LB he advertised on Harry's site.

I just bought a 3-5 and it had rod bearings in it, looked factory.I have a LA that doesnt have them. Thought they may have updated with the rod bearings and valve spring oiler wick in the 40's

OK....Here's what I did. First of all the only bearings I could find were for the 1 1/2 - 2 1/2............I had two rod bearings (4 Halfs) for a 302 Ford sitting on the shelf. They snapped right into the rod cap. They were about a 1/2 inch longer. I cut the halves to the right length, then I ground a relief in the cap and connecting rod for the tab that keeps the bearing from turning. I put 2 halves side by side, great fit with a little groove in between for oil. I silver soldered the ends together, made a wood fixture. I put the bearings in the fixture, turned them to the proper I.D. clearance. then I honned them real smooth. Put the rod and piston back in the engine, and torqed her down. GREAT FIT. Engine turns easy, and runs nice and quiet. Thanks for all the suggestions...........
