Default Who made this hoisting engine?

i got this eng before it went to the scrap yard it has no indication of ho made it. any ideas

Diesel (pretty sure) witte (guess) no mater what it is a good find...good job.

yes it is diesel and it has compression it was taken off a boat and it was used to pull in the anchor. so how do i start it or get info on it and what would be a guess on the hp

Looks like a Deutz Diesel of the MAH series.

I would agree that it certainly looks like a Deutz Diesel.
