Maytag - hit & miss?Is the Maytag single cylinder "92" hit & miss? I have heard opinions both ways about it.this thread has 3 replies and has been viewed 1309 times

All Maytag engines are not hit n miss. They sound kind of like it when not under load. If you have one, put a load on it and see if it sounds like a hit n miss.

The Maytag "92" is not hit-n-miss using the exhaust valve interupted method. it is governed by using the ignition-interupted method. all hit-n-miss engines fire every time if the are loaded enough. cool in central Texas Joe
