Default new computer, need addresses

Hey guys, got a new computer. Mine has been acting up for the last couple of weeks and I finally ditched it. With the help of my youngest daughter. She had been planning on getting me this thing for Father's Day, but got it early since the other one went crazy. She even got me a digital camera to go with it. Man, I like this thing, got all the goodies, faster, new programs, CD burner, printer with photo print and scanner and fax built in. Anyways, like a dummy, I downloaded files and pics off of the old computer but didn't think to get my addresses from Outlook Express. So those friends of mine that have my e-mail address send me an e-mail so I can get your addresses back. Thanks, see some of ya at Portland Friday. David.

This is a very opportune time to urge everyone to have a web-based email account--whether you use it or not. Most allow for the importing of your address book so you ALWAYS have a copy somewhere....
The other is peridocally save your address book to a floppy (WAB if Outlook Express) so you can easily get it back.
The USB "thumb drives" are INDISPENSIBLE for this sort of stuff!!!!!
I learned it YOUR way too Dave!!!....

Craig

I totaly agree with you. Regular BACK-UP is the most important thing to do with these computors. ALL FILES!!!!! I can not stress this to much to each user..

David, I surely hope you have not lost my email address. If so, Let me know on this board and I will re-send. I was just thinking to send you an email, today.

Jim

Well, I meant to write down the addresses, but slipped my mind in the excitement of getting all this new stuff hooked up. Haven't been able to back up anything on floppy for over a year, it was one of the first things to bite the dust on that old dinosaur. Didn't think about saving them on my ISP account because I never used it. Good point. Yeah Jim, send me an e-mail and let me know how things are going. Pretty much the same here as the last time we talked. David.
