Today I put the finishing touches on my Original Gas Engine Co. 2HP air cooled. This one has taken quite a while to finish up. There were some old repairs on the side of the base as well as the crank cover. I fixed these as best as I could. The color may not be correct as it had been painted sometime in the past. But I did not find anything but red paint anywhere on the engine. I was lucky in getting the remains of the fan shroud. There wasn't enough left of the shroud to use as a pattern for a new one but it did have the tag on it. So the shroud I built from the picture in the BYB. Don't know how accurate it is , but it makes me happy. The muffler is a repo of some kind and probably isn't right but again I had nothing to go by and it does make it quieter. The trucks are what came with the engine and all of the wood and battery box are new. Just thought you might like to take a look.

John: NICE job. I know a lot of hours went into it. You had all the "FUN" and frustrations doing it. Nice color "IHC-red". THANKS for sharing.

Paul, you have a real good eye for color, it is indeed IHC red. I imagine we could get quite a discussion going on the merits of the color especially if we were to get the tractor guys involved. I just didn't think it would look right painted JD green.

Skylar, I think JD green is a dandy color and it probably makes whatever you paint with it worth more.
