Exclamation Hudson Valley Auction

Here are some engine prices from HVA - Maytag 92 single 170, Hercules-Economy 6-S 775, Fairmont QBA 8-13 HP 295, F-M Z 11/2 HP 730, The auction started at 8 AM and I finished up on the wagon at about 9:20 PM.
The rain managed to avoid the auction grounds, however it did threaten to pour several times. Any one else take prices? I usually was too busy to write them gown, as there were almost 2,000 items

Did anything happen to follow you home, or jump in the back of the truck?

Andrew,
I thought that 1 1/2 hp Fairbanks with the AB 33 magneto went for $850? it was missing the original oilier and it had a crazy grease cup set up on it.
here are some prices I remember I got there at 8 Am and left at 4 PM
3 hp Fairbanks Morse Parts engine with 2 heads locked up tight missing carb, tank, tag and oilier $150 (I could have used the governor but I wasn't sure if it was the right one , gear was real big) Incomplete IHC 1 hp Tom Thumb Engine with much original paint $850, Real nice restored IHC 1 hp Tom Thumb Engine complete & running with crank handle on cart $1,350 , Cushman engine complete $600, 1 1/2 hp Ihc M with nice original paint with an original decal visible, magneto version , needed a fuel pump $450 , this auction to me seem like any engine could bring a high dollar value since there wern't many engine on the field at all, I guess it's basic economics supply and demand, high demand, low supply prices goes up !!!!
Here is my 2 cents worth
~Jonathan

The $1200 for the 6 hp with the drop center cart sounds reasonable. The carts at swap meets are bringing $8 - $1000 alone.

First, for Bill, a neat little SACHS NSU Wankle came home - I have it running already! I am looking for information on it. It is: Fichtel-Sahcs AG Schweinfurt, Sachs KM-48 System NSU Wankle 8PS. Was this a generater engine? Pump? It is only about a foot square, and the rotor is about 21/2" thick. It weighs about 20 pounds! Is an owners manual available? Decal on tank says 1:50 ratio - is this 50 to 1n and does it use 2 cycle oil, or does it need a special lubricant for the rotors? any help would be apprerciated. The $850 price is right for the F-M engine you described, there was another one near the last row. The price for the 6 S Economy was in the 1,200 range, my notes got crossed up. As for supply and demand - there were not that many engines this year, but there were bargains to be had. The guy who bought the cement mixer with the LB engine stole the show! the engine was a runner. People were sleeplig on that one - the EK mag was worth the price alone! I believe the crawler with no seat went cheaply - around 850? as I remember it, less than scrap price! The other one went for much more.
