Default American Bosch Magnetoes

Does anyone know if there is somewhere here on the list where you can go to identify what an American Bosch went to ?? Also can a flat universal plate be removed and a gear put on.

Chuck, One of the mags has the number"FX1ED-24" under that is "V8".serial number appears to be "3733334". The other one has very few numbers. All I can find are "63" "RM-66855" on the bottom. They both have only one lead out tower on the rear on top.....Dave.

I'll try adding a picture of one of them. They both look pretty much alike.

This mag was used on the IHC M engines for a very short time. It looks like someone rigged up the drive on it. It has the same internal coil as the Bosch AB-33 mag, just the shafts are different. 9 out of ten times the coils are SHOT on these mags. It will run your engine for a short while and then conk out. I have repaired a few of these mags. on the IHC engines there was a pot metal gear on the drive end. these are available new made out of aluminum.

Rudy..the drive/universal is a leather disc with holes 90 degrees from the ones that hold it to the shaft. Guess it was used to transfer power and take up minor miss alignments. Are these worth anything ?
