Default Hello, newbie here.

I was looking for information on my new briggs 5s, and ran accross this site.
I found it interesting, and signed up.
I see there are a lot of knowledgable and helpful people here, I hope to get to know everyone here, and get to discuss and learn about antique and collectible motors.

5s was acquired as restored on ebay.
I am currently restoring a 2hp 1960s b&s motor.
I will find serial tommorrow and find correct date.

Alex

Thumbs up Re: Hello, newbie here.

Welcome...

I'm in the process of restoring a 5s also. I too am a newbie. The folks & info here are wonderful.

Harry has a small engines forum that might fit your needs better than the main forum:

http://www.smokstak.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=27

Progress on my 5s has been slow.. but helped along by the folks here. See the thread I started on it:

I'm working on trying to free a stuck valve. Slow process... has had me tied up for 3 weeks.

Good Luck...

Dave
