Question Engine Defects

I recently purchased a cement mixer with a working Stover CT-1 hit or miss inside it. Upon removing the 1/2 inch of grease and crud, I noticed that the abreviation for Illinois was spelled IIL instead of the ILL found on my other engines. How rare is this? Does it make it worth any more? Not that I would sell it, but just curious.
Also are there any other defects on engines that you guys know about?
Any info is appreciated! Thanks!

It definitely means it's a forgery Matthew. Sorry to tell you, but your engine isn't worth the paper it's printed on. Seriously, I don't know the answers to your questions. Kevin

My J.D. Model E on the govenor cover says JOH Deere. The N was never cast in. On my vaughn,Portland Ore. the bottom of the letters are missing when it was cast.I dont really think these little mistakes make them worth anymore? BobRR
