Default 1.5hp model m ihc

i was at concord va engine show today, very well run show. very good show. lots of nice engines. will try to go next year. there was a model m ihc engine there for sale with a robert bosch magneto on it. the man selling the engine told me that some of the early model m's had bosch mags on them. is this correct? THANKS.

Bosch mags were used on the first spark plug models until the Wico EK mags came out.

Yes I agree with Jamie. The Bosch FX-ED1 mag was used very briefly like 2 years or something. These engines with the Bosch mags are not as common as the Wico EK models. The 3 H.P M with the Bosch mag is even harder too find.

They used the Am.Bosch FX-1 magneto from 1922 to 1934. The last engine that got an Am.Bosch was a 6 hp with serial # C 35074.

have seen a lot of engines over the years and never saw one of these with bosch mag. price was reasonable too. oh well, next time i'll know, THANKS to you guys.
