I have a model 92 Maytag that I'm in the process of restoring. The flywheel and backing plate is quite nasty. I've seen pics where they are very shiny. Can anyone tell me the best way to clean them without any damage and in the process making them look show quality? Thanks for the help.

Walnut hulls in the blast cabnet would be one easy way, a small stainless brush would be one hard way.

To get the chrome like finish, all the pits have to be sanded out with a real fine sand paper. Then buff it out on a buffing wheel. A lot of hard work. Like Joe said walnut shells in a bead blaster works good too but still have to buff it out.
