Howdy gents, can anyone identify this pump? Is it a water or fuel pump? I have no idea what it will...

Howdy gents, can anyone identify this pump? Is it a water or fuel pump? I have no idea what it will work on, just picked it up 'cause the price was cheap and figured it would be good trading stock. Thanks, David.

No, but I just (Monday) bought one identical to that but with a small accumulator & some kind of valve plumbed into it. I don't think they are real old (they use the modern stlye snap rings). I don't see where the intake is either. I can e-mail ou pics of what I got if you want.

Hi Zira, I didn't think it was real old, the price was too cheap. But it works good and would like to figure something to use it for. It had a small cast iron tank with it, I guess this is what you mean about the accumulator? It's a ball about the size of a tank float. What does it do? I figure if an engine needed a small pump this one would do until an original was found, so I reckon it will go on the shelf with my other "junk" until something comes up I can use it for. Never know. David.

Yes, that is what mine has too. I don't see where the intake is either, mine looks like it on has an out-go (or maybe only has an intake?). It was just small enough & cheap enough that I bought it on a whim. If you find out anything, let me know, & I will do likewise.

It might be like the John Deere pto air pumps and there are holes drilled in the piston with a flat plate to act as a check valve to suck the air in around the rod. They are hard to see when they get covered with greese. An accumulator is like a shock absorber for the pump and piping.
