Another EBAY SCAM, I Think ????

Help me out here, I just got another email from. What is supposed to be Ebay. They stated that My bank contacted them and said that someone has or is trying to get in on my credit cart account. Most likely a bunch of bull. My second question. How do we know when EBAY would actually want to contact us about a problem that is legit. Its to the point that I wont respond to EBAY emails, letters or by someone on the phone saying that they are from EBAY. How do we know when it is the real deal. Thanks Smoke

Hello,
If ebay wants you to check your account never click on a link in the email to do it. Always go to ebay.com and log in that way. Supposiblly ebay never sends out letters or emails like that. I'd report it to ebay. Go to:

http://pages.ebay.com/securitycenter/

This is where I'd go to report it.

You are being "phished". That is to say, someone just wants you to give up your credit card number or PIN number or anything that can get them your money. This happens an a daily basis with PayPal & eBay account holders. ALWAYS, ALWAYS forward your suspicious e-mails to spoof@ebay.com or spoof@paypal.com depending on the relevant site if you are not sure of their origin. They will tell you whether it is legit or not.

Smoke, E-Bay will call you on the phone if it is important, they did us. Looked funny with E-Bay on the caller ID.

I wouldn't believe a phone call from ebay either, unless I had originated the call. Al Wait

I remember one time, a few years ago, I was bidding on eBay in what was a charity auction. I believe they were custom peddle cars. Any way, I got a call from eBay asking if I had placed the bid. They did not ask for any sensitive information, just wanted to confirm I placed the bid.
