all of the Fairbanks Engine went reasonable price wise , I even bid on one my self, shipping would have killed me on a 350 pound engine living so far away from the auction site, I watched the whole auction live on the Internet it was neat and a change from bidding on Ebay I am going to try it again in the future, the only thing I have to figure out is how be able to listen to the auctioneer through out the whole auction I lost the audio feed after the first couple engines

Steve thanks for posting the great photos from the auction, it was great to see the engines on theauction floor

Is the price correct for the Alamo blue line engine $100?? Next time there is an online auction could someone please make not of it here on the Stak? I would like to listen in and watch, and who knows I may just have to add another to my collection.

Doug

I corrected the error...I guess one error on a page isn't too much I have also added several more comments on some of them.

This aucton was advertised on Harry's Banner Ad system. I believe that it stated that it was going to be broadcast live over the internet on that ad.

I have listened to other auctions in the past and when audio dropped, I would disconnect and reconnect and that usually corrected it.

Curt said that he could give me a cd of the photos, but I wanted to take the angles I wanted and additional pics as desired...

I ended up picking up 2 engines ...(and none of the original 3 that I initially wanted to get )

Whoever got that Handy Andy for $1700 got a good deal! They usually go for $2000 & up on skids. This one was on an original Galloway cart too!

Ron,

If the engine is one of the Fairbanks Morse Headless engines you got a good deal the Mag and Igniter are worth a lot.

Here in So Cal those engines are hard to find complete like that.

Just about any open crank hit and miss Igniter with a good mag in running condition would be a good buy at that price let alone a headless Fairbanks Morse.

I have 2 that are looking for mags and igniters so feel lucky that the farmer who had yours put up with the igniter because so many of them didn't understand the Igniter and low tension mag so when Model T Ford coils and spark plugs became so available and easy to hook up they cut off the igniter parts and drilled and tapped them for spark plugs.

Nice engine.

Dick
