Default Appleton No.22 Burr Mill Question

When looking at the mill from the pulley side, does it turn clockwise or counter clockwise? I have seen them belted both directions in photos and now have one myself and want to make sure I run it in the right diection.

Default Re: Appleton No.22 Burr Mill Question

I have several Appleton Mills...Put some corn in, belt it up...if the corn doesn't feed thru and bubbles in the feed area, it is going the wrong way...Put a twist in the belt and you are good to go...I should paint a direction arrow on the mill flywheel sometime... (you can also turn it by hand with some corn in it to see if it grinds it or not). If you havea conveyor on it, you can tell the correct direction by it.
