FRAUD: Clever eBay Spoof

Reported to eBay and confirmed as a spoof...

Your bank has contacted us regarding some attempts of charges from your credit card via the eBay system. We have reasons to believe that you changed your registration information or that someone else has unauthorized access to your eBay account Due to recent activity, including possible unauthorized listings placed on your account, we will require a second confirmation of your identity with us in order to allow us to investigate this matter further. Your account is not suspended, but if in 48 hours after you receive this message your account is not confirmed we reserve the right to suspend your eBay registration. If you received this notice and you are not the authorized account holder, please be aware that it is in violation of eBay policy to represent oneself as another eBay user. Such action may also be in violation of local, national, and/or international law. eBay is committed to assist law enforcement with any inquires related to attempts to misappropriate personal information with the intent to commit fraud or theft. Information will be provided at the request of law enforcement agencies to ensure that perpetrators are prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

Per the User Agreement, Section 9, we may immediately issue a warning, temporarily suspend, indefinitely suspend or terminate your membership and refuse to provide our services to you if we believe that your actions may cause financial loss or legal liability for you, our users or us. In the first paragraph it says the account isn't suspended then in the third it says it is suspended You would think they would at least keep the facts straight.

I've gotten one recently saying something about my PayPal credit card had unusual activity. Heck, I don't even have one of those.

Thats where they can get you. Thats the one that I got. At the bottom I saw ebay.com. Thought it was for real. Wanna know why I didnt respond to them?

Every one of these, I forward to spoof@ebay.com or spoof@paypal.com If there is ever one that is legit, I am sure they will let me know. Every single one has been a spoof so far. So don't just sit there and try to figure it out, forward it and let them figure it out.

Ooh, how's that for a sentence!?

Or how's this: "Your account is not suspended, but if in 48 hours after you receive this message your account is not confirmed we reserve the right to suspend your eBay registration....Due to the suspension of this account, please be advised you are prohibited from using eBay in any way. This includes the registering of a new account." Hm, did you get that Homer?
