Good question, looks unique. Why does it have the straps around the cylinder?

Andy,
I believe you have a National Engineering engine, Saginaw , Wisconsin. Im not sure which model. It is unusual to find a two flywheel model, at least in my area. I do not recoginize carburetor. I have a hopper cooled, one flywheel 2 hp with attached Wickes Bros. pump. The barrel that is cracked is removable & is held in place by cyl. head & dowel or screw. ... barrel for tank cooling or hopper for hopper cooled. Can you provide bore & stroke & other dimensions? I can not send photos until after June 15 ... on te boat.

Hi Andy, It looks like a fairly early National Engine made in Michigan. Don`t know too much about them though so you`ll have to ask the Michigan guys.

nice engine & e-mail if you need more picts.
