Default Waukesha engine troubles

I have a waukesha FC-206 in an old Hough payloader, that has a rattle in it. I know I will have to pull it and more than likely it is a rod bearing. I have searched around on the net looking for parts and have not had sucess in finding much. Does anyone out there have any suggestions, I have been told this same engine was used by AC in a tractor but can't seem to find any info there either. Any help, suggestions would be appreciated!!!

Denny

Is this Hough payloader a rubber tire loader or a track type?

Wauk's little FC was used in almost everything imaginable--I think I've seen variation numbers up to the 280's or so...
Parts catalogs seldom give any variation info, just listing "FC"...
Allis B30 tractor shows FC...
Case R,RC,RI started with Wauk FL or FK/FKJ (?), changed most prod to FC...
CO-OP #1 used FC...
(The Wauk in the early Farmall F12 (F14?) is supposed to be an FL/FL6D, not an FC)
Int"l trucks used in mid-30's (believe earliest FC listing I have is 31-32) and Fairmont Railcars used up into 40's, believe post WWII, altho may've been using up inventory.
You'll need the serial # off your engine (should have tag somewhere).
I think (THINK) I still have an FC parts book; if I recall it has cast and metal oil pans, three water pumps, mag and dist ignitions, and for flywheel housings says (send serial #), so there're lots of variations.
(Self-serving commercial: if I can find it, and you want one, $5 +mlg). Some parts may still be avail thru NAPA etc; if not, can email some places to try. Good luck.
Oops: will be numerous FC postings here and on other old-tractor/equipment sites.

Couple (?) of things I forgot to mention:
Tractor FC's will probably be the cast oil pan type, where the engine and it's cast pan is an integral part of the tractor "frame', and may be crank start (no elec starter) and mag ignition...
Some of the Hough's came with two and three engine options (per parts catalogs); if yours is one, one of the other engines may be easier to find/find parts for...
Quick eyeball of Hough in a couple catalogs shows some HA, HAC, HAH, HE used the FC (may be more as Hough now often lumped into Int'l)...
Hyster HC50, YC40 and 40T used FC/FC260A (?)...
Binderbooks.com is supposed to have all the manuals for everything Int'l used, but don't know about prices. Believe FC factory manual just went for $40+ on EBay, but don't recall if it was "Service manual" or "Operators manual" (older Wauk manuals are weird as to content).
Also have the recollection older FC's babitt rods, later used inserts, but not sure. With sympathy, Bud

Well like Bud mentioned the FC Waukesha was a very popular engine. Tractor wise the Farmal F-12 tractors the RC Case tractors and for A-C not the tractor but the lift trucks (had one at work) used these engines. Now due to the poularity of the engine Victor reintroduced the gasket set so find a Carquest or another automotive parts store that handles Victor. Napa may or may not. They went to Felpro on some items. One caution, Waukesha is still in business but has nothing to do with small engines so if anybody mentions Waukesha that is not their function anymore. Bearing shells can and are repoured all the time, rings would be a stock item maybe purchased by size since groove sizes on pistons also changed durring the production of these engines. More questions?

Hi Keith. I'm looking for a complete FC motor . Do you still have one available? It will go in a clarke C-1a Airbourn I saved from scrap. Its missing the motor, dozer rams, track links sheetmetal but i'm hopeful. Thanks for your help, Art.

Art and all: just ran across something by accident the other day that might affect different FC's...
Was looking for something in a B-W 1986 Ign parts catalog, and noticed various FC listings:
FC etc 59-65 with an AL IGW dist;
FC Series 66-67 with a different IGW dist;
FC Series (2 17/32 bowl) 63-67 "625F dist";
FC Series (3 1/4 bowl) 63-67 DR dist; and for 68-71:
FC Series with CLOCKWISE rotation, a different DR dist..
FC Series with COUNTER-CLOCKWISE rotation, a 3rd DR dist...
(The mag section wasn't broken down by engine).
(A) I didn't know those engines were built to 1971...
(B) I didn't know some rotated CCW...
I don't know if the catalog is a misprint, if the rotation note is correct whether, if it is correct, it just affects the 68-71 models or earlier production...that one catalog is the only one i have with the later production dates and the CW/CCW reference...
