Default Tom Thumb Bearings

Hello. I hope that you all can help me out. I have a Tom thumb with a brass connecting rod. Doesn't look like there is any bearings in it or is there suppose to be? Then what about the Main Bearings, are they suppose to be poured in the bearing caps? THANKS ALL. Hope you all can help me out.

The con-rod is the bearing! There should be shims to make the adjustments. If the bearing caps are bronze, they are probably adjustable thru shimming also.
