Default Early Case Hydro?

I have located a Case garden tractor that is new to me! It has Koehler 12 with hydraulic pump on engine and a hydro motor on side of rear end to drive it. It has two speed ranges. Oil cooling radiator in front of engine with small fan on crankshaft. Front tires about 10 inch and rears very tall, probably about 14 inch wheel with tractor lug tire. Is this a tractor that is collectable or not? Trying to decide if I should purchase. Thanks, Jim Hunter

Jim case purchased the old mustang garden tractor firm in the 1960's and that was their set up they used . If you do a internet search mustang / case you should find infromation. A few were sold in north carolina and there is a few near Tarboro NC . So far if it is collectable ? If it is a nice unit in good condition and price is in your range Buy It! mcanady

Go to "Case garden tractor" in yahoo groups and they can help you identify it. Color will somewhat date it. Red or yellow is a 442 I think. 44 is high wheel, 2 is horsepower, 12 hp. Earlier tractors had a different number.

Would need a lot more information to answer your question. The "Colt" hydraulic driven tractor was built in the early 1960's, sold to JI Case after two years. Case was latter sold to one of the Ingersoll Brothers and to a Company in Portland Maine, in 2006. Eastman Industries but are being manufactured and sold as "The Ingersoll Tractor, Co."
