I wonder if anyone can help identify and old diesel I recently came across at a derelict lead mine in northern Western Australia.
It's four cylinder, stands about five feet high by five feet long with an open flywheel, about four feet in diameter. The side covers on the crankcase are made of wood (ply) - they appear to be original. We guess, by the dates the mine operated, it dates from the period 40's, 50's or early 60's. We put the power at something between 80 & 140HP The only marks left are the letters "RMC" and "Chromidium" (within a diamond shaped outline) - these are in the cylinder heads. Any ideas?
